The Hottest Box Mods March 2017
Smok continues to surge even as new products hit the market that threaten to dethrone its Alien Mod out of the top spot. Wismec and Sigelei both feel they have the answer to dethroning SmokTech.
Smok Alien 220W Box Mod: What can be said for this mod that already hasn't been stated over and over again? With the exception of a few new colors being released this mod is the most affordable and best rated out of any mod released in the past 6 months. It's biggest con being the chipping away of its paint and some possibly rattling the Alien 220W Box Mod has held up nicely with a few paint issues and consumers have rewarded its manufacturer with record setting sales numbers because of it.
Wismec Predator 228 Box Mod: The cleverly named box mod by Wismec features design by Sinuous and not only is it taking shots at the Alien Mod but it's name indicates that Wismec plans to wage war on the Alien Kit. Whether you get this mod with the Elabo Tank Kit or not you'll still find a comparable price point in terms of value and performance. While the Elabo Tank might not vape as well as the TFV8 or TFV12 it does produce some amazing flavor. The mod itself is the crown jewel of Q1 for Wismec, its durable paint finish will see it outlast the Alien Mod visually by leaps and bounds but firmware updates are going to make the difference in whether this mod can tie or surpass the success of the Alien. From a weeks worth of usage there are no complaints, better screen, better response times and personally I find a more ergonomic feel. The Predator 228 Box Mod is definitely a powerhouse but can it eventually topple the king?
Sigelei Kaos Spectrum 230W Box Mod: Out of all of the box mods on the market right now this is my favorite, and that's not because of the lighting up LCD bezels. This mod has a beautiful color screen, little details that usually go overlooked as in how the information on the mod screen is presented. Different colors for wattage ranges, on device vape curve settings, and charging to me is the best out of these three mods. I charged 2 18650's loaded into the device for two hours and it never as much as got warm. I can't say the same for the other two devices. In terms of who has more efficient charging that's up for debate but using a voltage meter my batteries were completely topped off on the Kaos Spectrum 230W Box Mod where with the Wismec and Smok mods they didn't quite hit that 100% charge on the voltage meter. As vapers we are very social and that's where the LCD's come in, they are beautifully designed and very bright but also draw in people to ask about your vape setup.
