Vape Snapshot: Aspire’s Spryte Pod Mod Kit

Aspire's new Spryte Pod Mod Kit is designed for vapers who have been using disposable pod systems but want something more from vaping. It’s a sleek device with a smooth pull, which makes it a good fit for vapers who want a quality mouth-to-lung experience.

‘Spryte’ is an archaic spelling for ‘spirit’ and the device definitely has a sort of netherworld quality that puts it in the land somewhere between pod mods and pen-style vapes.

Replaceable Coils

The kit features two replaceable coils. The Bottom Vertical Coil (BVC) coil has a resistance of 1.8ohm and works best with a voltage output of 3V to 5V, and the BVC Nic Salt (BVC NS) coil, which has a resistance of 1.2ohm. These are designed so they can be used with high-nicotine salt-based liquids or low-nicotine blends to give you the full range of choices in e-liquids.

With the world of flavors at your fingertips online and at vape shops, it’s important to have a device that can handle all types of liquids. With the Spryte, vapers can use both salt-based and traditional e-liquids without trading a super-compact setup for a bulkier advanced mod.

Battery Power

The device delivers a constant 12 watts of power. It also comes with massive (for a pod mod) 3.5 ml liquid capacity, and when it’s paired with a 650 mAh battery, it puts out about double the energy of a cigalike-style pod system. This makes it extremely attractive for Mouth-to-Lung enthusiasts that want a bit of extra power and battery life.

Power Button

Another feature more common with vape pens and traditional mods than pod systems is the power button—five rapid clicks turns the device on and off; while holding the button down while inhaling will cause it to produce vapor. The button is also back-lit and changes color depending on the battery charge level, letting you know when it's time to recharge.

Other Features

Speaking of colors, the Spryte comes in five of them, blue, purple, black, olive green, and silver. It also comes with a great mouthpiece cap that can keep it protected when not in use.

Breeze Companion

If you’re already familiar with Aspire, it’s probably due to its other very successful device, the Aspire Breeze. Like the Breeze, the Spryte makes vaping powerful and easy. Unlike the Breeze’s wider design, the Spryte is slim and designed to fit in your hand. Its mouthpiece also offers an improved draw. Pound for pound, the Spryte is a definite upgrade from the Breeze.

While it definitely looks good, the design of the device is slightly tilted so that when you attempt to rest it upright, it can tip over. When you put the mouthpiece cap on the bottom end of it, keeping it upright is even more difficult. It's a minor setback, so if this aspect might bother you, this device might not be for you.

If you're looking to save money by eliminating pricey pre-filled pods or interested in taking advantage of some of the enhanced performance offered by larger devices while sticking with the diminutive stature of pods, the Spryte is an excellent and inexpensive way to go about it.
