How To Update Vandy Pulse BF 80W Box Mod Firmware

The aesthetically-pleasing Pulse 80W box mod from Vandy Vape has recently received an update to its firmware. The update, labelled Vandy Chip 80W_V006, was released on May 28 and includes various enhancements and improvements to the device to offer a more involved experience.

With the update comes three functional improvements. For one, mode switching has been simplified, making it much easier to switch between your desired vape experience. Another improvement allows you to optimize the temperature control effect, which improves the device's ability to monitor its temperature. Finally, a sleep time feature has been added.

The update also brings forth several different functions to the device.

No Lift Shift (NLS): With this feature, users no longer need to remove the atomizer when adding a new build. After burning in power mode (P), simply press +/- twice at the same time and select new coil. Your device will automatically adjust its settings to the new build and you'll be set.

Boost Power: This gives users the ability to heat the coil faster and deliver a stronger hit. To do this, in power mode, press and hold +/- (the two small up and down buttons below the fire button) to enter the secondary menu. Select option (N-H) to move to boost mode, or H. Once in boost mode, pressing the fire button four times in succession will allow you to enter the 'Knock Force' or 'Boost Level' and timing. When finished, hold the fire button for five seconds to exit to the main screen.

Plug-in Switch Function: This gives users the ability to add and remove modes from the main menu. While in power mode, press and hold +/- to enter the secondary menu and then select the plug-in function to switch it on and off. The functions that can be set in this version of the software are temperature control (TC), bypass mode (BP), voltage mode (V), boost power (H), and no lift shift (NLS). To turn off the set and adjust sleep time settings, press the fire button once to select the mode (the bar under the selected mode flickers) and press +/- to open the plug-in (solid bar) and close (hollow bar). When finished, hold the fire button for five seconds to exit to the main screen.

To download the new update, follow the steps below.

1. Download and open the Vandy Chip E-Cigarette OTA Tool.
2. Remove the atomizer from your Pulse.
3. Using the USB cord, connect your device to your computer.
4. Click the refresh button on the software's window and your current device should be displayed as 'Vandy Chip-80W_1'. If it doesn't, check your connection and try again (you can also contact Vandy Chip support).
5. Click 'connect' and you should then be shown your current firmware version. The screen on your device will switch to 'PC Connect.'
6. Search and select the update file and begin updating.
7. When prompted, select 'Yes' on the 'are you sure you want to upgrade?' window.
8. You will be notified when your update is complete.

Note:

** If a crash occurs during the upgrade, unplug the USB and remove the battery from the mod. Press the power button and + at the same time and then plug the USB in. The screen will display 'PC Connect' and follow steps above.

**If a battery charge indicator occurs while plugging in your device and your computer does not recognize the device, click the power button five times. The computer should then read the device and you will be able to see it on the refresh list.
