The Nightmare Before Christmas: Black Friday Horror Stories

Ah, Christmas. A time for loved ones, merriment, and gift giving.

Wait...what are we giving our loved ones this year? Did I start a list? Did you?

You know the drill, we rush out en masse right after Thanksgiving dinner, thankful that some overworked retail staff will be keeping their doors late to allow us to partake in the retail version of Hunger Games.

We’re talking, of course, about Black Friday.

Once a small incentive to kickstart the holiday shopping season, the event has morphed into a mob-inciting riot fest of deals, steals, dangerous (and embarrassing) shopping misdeeds.

Let’s run through some downright no-good stories of Black Fridays past.

We asked our writer Schane about her favorite part of Black Friday last year: “The fact that I no longer have to work on Black Friday.”

She remembered a woman once who threatened to choke her because her store didn’t have a sale product in stock despite a computer listing one remaining item.

“What people didn’t understand was that ‘one item left’ in a big department store meant it could be anywhere. Moved, bought, stolen, lost. Anywhere but here,” Schane told us.

Well, at least here at Breazy you won’t have to worry about doorbuster drama like that. Since we’re online and all.

Here are some more harrowing Black Friday tales we found online that we hope will reinforce your decision to stay at home and shop online instead:

'Someone pooped in the fitting rooms once. On purpose. Like, there was just a pile of solid turds on the carpet.' —margareto46dc6ab5f, Buzzfeed

'When I worked at Sam's Club, during the madness on Black Friday morning, we caught a woman stuffing the inside of her pants with frozen lobster tail. She would unpackage them and throw the trash in a stack of tires that were on display.' - Nickdubs, Reddit

Based off what we’ve seen in compilation videos on Black Friday Shopping, it feels more and more like The Purge had a certain inspiration from, well...us.

Yikes.

Who wants to deal with all that? This is 2018, so take advantage of our online Black Friday Sale!

Ditch the crowds, the customers, and the headaches by popping over to the online store right here at Breazy. That’s the beauty of e-commerce. You won’t have to worry about elbows or attitudes, and you'll score plenty of doorbuster deals without busting down a single door.
