The Smok T-Priv 220W Starter Kit, A Flashing LED Vape Kit!

Smok is back at it again, not one to let someone else steal their thunder the vape king of 2016 tries to roll its dominance into 2017. Following the steps of Sigelei's Kaos Spectrum 230W Box Mod, Smok announced its T-Priv 220W Box Mod which features side panel backed flashing LED lights. Let's get into the specs behind this latest monster of a box mod.

Let's start off with what we are all familiar in this starter kit, the T-Priv 220W Starter Kit features the Big Baby Beast version of the TFV8 line of sub ohm tanks. The TFV8 Big Baby Beast features 5ml of juice capacity with coils that range from 20 watts up to 100 watts in power consumption. The Big Baby Beast Sub Ohm Tank is the mid-point between the TFV8 Cloud Beast Sub Ohm Tank and the TFV8 Baby Sub Ohm Tank and serves the purpose of an almost all day vape tank on one fill depending on your style of vaping. What has made this sub ohm tank a must have is the wide range coil options that can easily fit whatever need and desired style of vapor and flavor production you personally prefer. The TFV8 Big Baby Beast Sub Ohm Tank is a widely popular and adapted sub ohm atomizer.

Now onto the new technology, the T-Priv 220W Box Mod has rippled side panels that enable its user to display an LED color of their choosing whenever they press the fire button on the device. The side panels display beautifully in the palm and are very bright and vibrant, eye catching if we must pick a term. Where the Kaos Spectrum 230W Box Mod only featured its LED bezel on one side of the mod, the T-Priv 220W Box Mod features this design on both sides and it's much more radiant in terms of design without being exactly a cliche of gimmicky design. The integration of said LED lights is extremely well done, in the sense that they are part of the body of the box mod and not just a surface design. In terms of the rest of the box mod, the technology pretty much remains the same. This box mod is an upgrade in terms of design from the older G Priv models and features the same side-loaded firing button.

Measuring in at 86.6mm by 48.1mm by 32mm this is not an ultra portable box mod but not so beefy that it won't fit into a pocket. Featuring the protections we've become accustomed to including 12 second cut-off, puff count monitoring, short circuit protection, over heating protection, and reverse polarity protection. It's body constructed of zinc alloy and a blend of stainless steel Smok has promised a much more durable paint finish on this box mod than what we experienced with the AL85 85W Box Mod that saw its pain peeling a few week or even days into ownership.

Overall this starter kit is a nice offering from Smok but not a must have unless you are on the market for an upgrade or looking to just add to your collection a new toy.
