Vape Snapshot: Asvape Touch Pod Starter Kit

It’s crazy how fast technology moves in the vaping world. Just a few months ago, we were awed by the first pod system with adjustable power settings, but even now that seems antiquated. Since then, we’ve had an explosion of technology which has made so many devices similar to smart technology.

That brings us to our newest pod system, the Asvape Touch Pod Starter Kit. Today, we're excited to announce a pod mod boasting not only adjustable power but a full-featured customizable touchscreen. Ladies and gentlemen, meet the Asvape Touch.

Touchscreen

Let’s dive into the feature that makes this system stand out: the touchscreen, the first pod system offering this capability. That’s a pretty impressive technological advancement.

The touchscreen has full color array and measures 2' diagonally, taking up nearly one full side of the device. The home screen displays battery power, vaping mode, one of Asvape's pre-loaded images, or, and this is the fun part, you can even upload your own customized wallpaper.

To get your personalized wallpaper, all you need to do is connect the device to your computer and you can upload custom images. When you turn on the touch screen, swiping down toggles through menu screens which include three different settings: Soft, Standard, or Strong.

You can also access a puff counter, use timer and, particularly interesting, a feature that estimates how much battery life remains both in terms of puffs and minutes of vaping..

Power

The Asvape Touch has a 600 mAh battery, not bad for a pod system of this size. It’s paired with pods that have a 1.6 ohm resistance and are capable of storing 1.5 ml of liquid, which is on the low end even for pod systems. The three settings mentioned earlier, Soft, Standard, and Strong, offer versatility to using this pod system with the Strong setting topping off the power at 12 watts.

Other Features

One side of the battery body hosts the micro-USB port and power button; hold down a few seconds to power on/off, tap the button when on to activate a stealth mode that disables the screen. The pod and battery are attached via a magnetic quick connect system that seems to hold well enough without being too tight to easily detach.

Additionally, there are two fill ports that can be accessed via a hinged cap surrounding the connection points. We'll note here that you've got to fill both sides of the pod, as each chamber feeds a different side of the coil wick and they're not connected. That's a little odd.

Drawbacks

The touchscreen is cool as technological advancements go, but it might annoy vapers who don’t need their mod to be a miniature iPhone. The screen can also become a problem for clean freaks - these smooth surfaces on touchscreens tend to be fingerprint magnets, often needing wipe-downs after every use in order to keep them looking sharp.

The other drawback to this device is that the pods are relatively small (only 1.5 ml) and the starter kit only comes with one pod. This is a major drawback and a starter kit like this should come with two pods just in case the one is a dud. If you do pick this up, be sure to immediately pick up some extra pods before you do anything else.

Takeaway

The Asvape Touch Pod Mod Starter Kit is a great choice for beginner vapers looking to experiment with customizing their vaping experience, or for advanced users drawn to the compact pod systems who've been unimpressed with previous offerings. It’s the first touch-compatible pod mod system that we’re aware of, and that might make it seem like a little bit of a gimmick at first. However, it still can give you a quality vaping experience along with all the cool features that come with the touchscreen.
