One of the hardest things for many of us in our quest to quit smoking was dealing with the form factor of vapor devices. Even the comparatively diminutive eGo 'pen style' devices seemed mammoth, after all, when compared to the cigarettes we were used to.

The problem, though, is that 'cigalike' devices, or those designed to be roughly the size of an actual cigarette, were disappointing. From the original 510 and 808-styled devices (if you remember these, you've probably been around vaping quite a while) to devices promoted by Big Tobacco like the Marlboro Mark Ten and the RJ Reynolds Vuse, the vapor production was as underwhelming as the battery life.

After years of mediocrity that caused most vapers to abandon the format and learn to love big, bulky box mods, cigalikes are coming back in a big way. Not only have batteries and means of charging (through common micro-USB ports rather than dedicated devices) stepped up, so have other features. Vapor production, while not rivaling a fog machine, is certainly effective when it comes to simulating an actual smoking experience. And the availability of premium flavors, either through refillable systems or by allowing top-shelf juice makers access to pre-filled cartridges, completes the package.
