Fixing a Leaky or Flooded Vape Tank

More and more people are using e-cigarettes. Sometimes problems arise with the equipment which may include leakage and flooded tanks. Leaking can actually occur more frequently than people realize. If you suspect the clearomizer has sprung a leak then there are a few things that need to be checked.

Step (1): 

Make sure the base and the coil are tightly fitted and no movement is detected. If the coil is even slightly crooked this can cause a definite leak. In a situation such as this, it is best to remove the coil and simply twist the coil securely in place.

Step (2): 

You may want to check the original seals to make sure they are all still good. If any of the original seals are worn they will need to be replaced as soon as possible. There is a manufacturer code contained within the e-cig package insert. The Manufacturer Code will help you to purchase the correct seals for your tank.

Step (3): 

Make certain that there are no visible spaces. Make certain the base is securely in place and that no spaces exist between the base and clearomizer. Any spaces will cause a definite leak and need to be sealed at once.

Step (4): 

Check the battery at all times. A faulty battery can cause leakage, flooding and other issues. Batteries are quite easy to replace and it should be done if they're not working properly.

Step (5): 

Make sure fluid is filled to capacity. Sometimes if fluid runs low air pockets can develop which in some cases can cause a leakage. In addition, using a more expensive and well-known brand of fluid may be worth the extra money. Sometimes generic brand fluids can cause flooding because some important chemicals are substituted during the manufacturing process. It holds true that you get exactly what you pay for.

Step (6): 

Resolving flooding issues: In spite of improvements in vaping technology flooded tanks can still be a problem. In most cases a flooding problem occurs when the wick soaks up any excess fluid. Excess fluid will naturally build up in the tank causing a flooding problem. Any material which becomes saturated will likely cause fluid overload and flooding is the end result. The flooding problem can be rectified by simply removing the atomizer and properly cleaning any excess fluid or debris that may be present.

Most importantly, make sure the battery is checked on a regular basis.
